Ewa is a microcosm of the island of Oahu. A mix of old and new, traditional and modern, Ewa mixes vintage, plantation era homes with newer master planned neighborhoods. A large area, Ewa is informally separated into several neighborhoods: Ewa Gentry, Ewa Beach, Honouliuli, and Ewa Villages. As with other towns in the area, many of Ewa’s homes have been built in the last quarter-century, to compensate for Honolulu’s overcrowding. Many of the “plantation-style” homes fall into this category, capturing the designs of the older cottages and homes in a more modern style.
Ewa is a golfer’s paradise, and many homes overlook one of the several courses within the town. There are many other activities as well, including the nearby Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park and Ewa Beach. There are plenty of shopping options within Ewa itself, and Pearl City and Kapolei are only a few minutes away. A 30-minute drive puts you in downtown Honolulu.
Ewa real estate is booming, and both single-family homes and condos are readily available. Most homes have been built within the last 25 years, and it’s not hard to find a home that was built in this century. Ewa homes range from the mid-$300Ks to the upper $600Ks depending on location and the size of the home. Some of the smaller 2 and 3 bedroom cottages may even be priced under $300K. Ewa condominiums are generally newer buildings, and prices vary widely based on view and amenities. On average, condos are priced around $400K.
